The Worlds Best White Water Rafting - Salmon River

As if to warn curious rafters, Idaho's Salmon River is also sometimes called The River of No Return. The total length of the river is 425 miles (684 km), but the best section for whitewater is perhaps the hundred or so miles called The Middle Fork. This section boasts three hundred rateable rapids, including the Class V Dagger Falls.

As pointed out by Visitidaho.org, The Salmon River remains one of the few remaining free-flowing waterways in America. "Throughout the rugged mountains and grassy pine meadows thrive deer, elk, black bear and mountain goats. The best way to experience the Salmon is with a licensed river guide. Outfitters offer float trips ranging from 1 to 8 days on calm or wild water"
