The Worlds Best Hiking - Torres del Paine

Torres del Paine is a national park in Chilean Patagonia that has long been a Mecca for hikers. The park's name refers to a dramatic mountain range consisting of several huge granite towers rising majestically from the surrounding glacial landscape. It is possible to experience this highlight on a daytrip, but most visitors prefer to spend several days here, taking the full 63-mile Paine Circuit.

"The National Park covers 181,000 hectares. It has roads for vehicles and paths for walkers. It has 3 entry gates, one administrative center and seven guard posts in various sectors of the Park." (Torresdelpaine.com)
