"The Grand Canyon section of the Colorado River runs from Lees Ferry to Grand Wash Cliffs, and those looking for a real white water adventure can raft the entire 277-miles. Featuring an amazing 161 sets of rapids, the complete trip takes as little as six days in a motor powered raft or up to 22 days under oar-power." Note, however, that the popularity of the experience means that one must plan and book this adventure several years ahead.

Rafting is an amazing experience, not only because of the adventurous spirit and the adrenalin rush, but also because of the great feeling that you are part of the team, part of something bigger and your success depends on each other's mutual effort.

I recently took a trip through Bryce Canyon and had seen rafters setting off from Lees Ferry as that seems to be the starting point for many rafters. I spoke to a couple of people and they had mentioned that you need to enter a lottery to receive permission to raft. I was a little heart broken as I am patient enough to reserve a slot a few years in advance if need be. But with a lottery, you might not ever win, meaning you can never take this trip... sort of silly in my opinion.
